Autumn Open House and Live Concert at Baker Cabin site

Saturday, Nov. 5th, 2022  3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

It’s time for Autumn fun at the Baker Cabin Historic Site. We have a great day planned for Nov. 5, as we welcome everyone back to the site with a host of fun things to do:

3 – 6 pm   Open House and Photos – Get caught up with your friends and neighbors and visit the Baker Site on a glorious fall day. The cabin will be open and guests are invited to step back in time and stroll the pioneer farmhouse and grounds. There’s great history here, as well as a great backdrop for family photos. The mud wagon will be decorated for the holidays.

Bring your own camera to get your shots, or Heidi Keller of  Clear Creek Photography Studio , may be engaged to take professional pictures.

3-6 pm Oktober-fest Dinner – Featuring brats and hot dogs, potato salad, barbecue beans and other side dishes provided by The Carver Hangar and Three Guys Grilling. Sodas and water will be available with the dinner. We can’t serve alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own beer or wine.

6 -7 pm   Fall Concert features the Fireside Social Quartet  – The Fireside Social Orchestra Quartet, recreating the small orchestra featured in parlor and ballroom performances of yesteryear, returns to the Pioneer Church to perform a program of Swiss and German Music with instruments including alphorns, violin, tenor viola, cello, recorders, flute, serpent, ophicleide, tenor horn, tuba, voices and more. You’ll hear polkas and alphorns, and your feet are  guaranteed to want to tap the floor!

These events are open to the public and appropriate for all ages.

Lederhosen and Dirndl attire is very welcome.
